Soaring Wings provides a Christ-centered home where kids can develop and grow socially, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually. We do this while their parents are dealing with other struggles and getting the support they need in order to give their children the best life possible when they return home. The children at Soaring Wings receive hope and healing through a loving family environment, counseling, educational development, and the life-changing gospel of Jesus.
ABOUT SOARING WINGS
THE GOAL
Our goal is to help children SOAR with their development and reunify them with their family. We do this by providing great care and support for children living in our homes, in addition to connecting parents/guardians with local resources they need, i.e., visitation, counseling, housing, jobs, addiction programs, or other needs of the family. During times of crisis and/or struggle, we are able to help families avoid the need of entering an overburdened foster care system. Check out our Admissions Info here.
THE SETTING
We are located in Central Arkansas on 195 scenic acres. On our campus, the children can experience horseback riding, fishing, paddle boating on the lake, hiking, bike riding, and other activities.
We have four homes that are inviting and spacious, helping children feel comfortable and safe. In the home, they can enjoy movie night, video games, meals together, and board games. Click here to take a virtual tour of one of our homes.
THE KIDS
Soaring Wings accepts children who are not delinquent, but who need a new environment in order to thrive at a critical time in their lives (See admissions criteria here). Children are admitted as young as birth and as old as 17. Once admitted, a child who adapts to our program may stay until age 18 or until he or she graduates from high school. Typically, children are at Soaring Wings for 12 months of longer depending on the need of the child and family.
THE TEAM
Cooperation between your family and Soaring Wings is necessary to support our goal of seeing children SOAR FROM HERE. Whenever possible, we are here to help reunify your family. We work with you to set goals and give you guidance on how you can meet those goals. And if reunification is not possible, we will work with you to find other permanent placement options for your child(ren). Soaring Wings is here so you can also SOAR FROM HERE.
THE SUPPORT
Children that live in our homes receive support from our Campus Director, Educational Specialist, Case Manager, and local community. We have a married Christian couple serving year-round in each home as parent figures. These are all focused on helping children with their development and reunifying them with their family. (For children ages birth to pre-K, we have an on-sight preschool that works with them until they are kindergarten-ready).
THE COST
In order to encourage families to be fully committed, we charge a small fee based upon one's current financial situation. However, a family's inability to pay for these services will NOT keep your child(ren) from being able to live at Soaring Wings. Our private funding (through individuals, churches, and corporations) makes Soaring Wings accessible to all families in need!
